David Melon, MD, FACS

Dr. David Melon has served of the President and CEO of Carolina ENT Sinus and Allergy Center since 2017. He has also held the position of Chairman of the Board at Viewmont Surgery Center when under his leadership, a strategic joint venture partnership was formed with two competing health care systems, significantly expanding access to cost-effective ambulatory surgery options for patients throughout the Unifour region.

He earned his undergraduate degree in cognitive science from the University of Virginia and completed his medical education at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then pursued residency training in Otolaryngology at The Ohio State Medical Center. Dr. Melon is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Thyroid Association, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Triological Society.

A dedicated advocate for the surgical community in North Carolina, Dr. Melon previously served as the Young Fellows Representative for the North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. His passion for improving the patient experience is reflected in his 2022 contribution to the book Essential Healthcare Economics: The Patient Experience, A Starting Point for Better Healthcare and his 2024 publication of his Triological Thesis: Otolaryngic Allergy Patient Journey Mapping: A Framework for Allergy Immunotherapy Adherence.
